41. Denver Art Museum Visit

This week, Red Bike visits the Denver Art Museum and comes across an interesting exhibit by Denver Area artist, John Saiz. The exhibit, entitled, #WhatisUtopia, includes 10,000 individual tiny paintings, sculptures, and drawings, all displayed on a single column. It takes a while to absorb the amount of work that went into the 10,000 tiles for the exhibit.

Saiz uses the exhibit in combination with social media (Instagram) to prompt discussion about what a modern-day utopia might look like. Saiz reminds us that utopia is “an imagined community or society that possesses highly desirable or nearly perfect qualities for its citizens.” At exhibition end, all 10,000 of the tiles will be given away. I found the exhibit to be inspirational. Hope you get the chance visit in person. Enjoy the pictures!
